Racing Summary Ascot's most valuable day of Jumps racing, featuring the Grade 1 £100,000 BGC Long Walk Hurdle.
The Long Walk is Ascot’s highest quality hurdle race, and has fallen previously no less than three times to the great Baracouda, who was trained in France by Francois Doumen.
The £150,000 “Ladbroke” is Europe’s richest handicap hurdle. The race has thrived since moving to Ascot from Leopardstown and is often the scene of an exciting showdown between English and Irish horses.
Entertainment Summary Off the track join in the festive fun and meet Father Christmas himself in our Winter Wonderland Grotto. At the BGC Christmas Raceday there is a lot to see and do. Visit Father Christmas in his Grotto where there will be a gift waiting for everyone that has been good this year! (The first 450 children will receive a present).
To make the day truly festive why not take a ride on the fairground or have your faces painted with a festive motif by one of Santa’s elves. After racing join us for a collection of Christmas Carols in the Grandstand. The festive sing-a-long begins 20 minutes after the last race where a Christmas Carol sheet will be provided.
If you have younger racegoers in your party why not join the Colts & Fillies Club. A free club for all children aged 16 & under.
